Rescue Program
Our mission is, first and foremost, to save the lives of cats and kittens who may have otherwise been needlessly euthanized. Our "rescue" cats come from various sources. Many of our current special-needs cats came from local animal shelters, where they were struggling to be adopted. Others have come from community members, who find them but cannot care for them. After Our expansion, we will be actively rescuing cats from high-kill shelters around the state of Wyoming.

Adoption Program
We strive to find the perfect home for every cat or kitten we take in. Our volunteers spend  hours with each cat getting to know their personality and likes and dislikes. From this we feel we are able to match each cat with a family that it will mold with effortlessly.

Elderly Assistance Program
The volunteers of SCSCR understand that it can be difficult to properly care for a cat under certain circumstances. If an elderly community member has need of our services, we will come to their home and help them in whatever way they need. This may include changing litter boxes, shopping for food or supplies, and taking the cat(s) to the vet. This service is offered free of charge, although donations of any size are welcomed.

Guardian Program
This is a service for people who specify in their Will or trust documents that their cat companions are to be entrusted to SCSCR at the time of their death, and who make annual donations to SCSCR (of any amount). When a guardian passes away, cats enrolled in the Guardian Program will be taken in to the SCSCR Adoption Program. They receive excellent care as staff works to place them in the best possible home. If specified in the Will or trust, the cat(s) may remain at SCSCR for the duration of their life.

Outreach Program
SCSCR's educational outreach is designed to help the community increase pet retention. This includes distributing information on special-needs animals, behavior intervention, feral cats, the importance of spaying and neutering, the facts about declawing, and information on common cat health problems. We also offer free phone support to help families resolve problem behaviors that may have resulted in relinquishing the cat to a shelter without intervention.
