Featured Cat: Gilbert

Gilbert was born on September 25, 2006, in Hattiesburg, MS. We know this because he was born under a bush outside of the apartment building of one of our volunteers who was living there at the time!

Gilbert had one brother and two sisters. His mom, Peaches, took very good care of them until they were 4 weeks old. At that time, disaster struck. Peaches became very ill, and was diagnosed with FIP. She had to be euthanized, leaving her babies in the care of our volunteer.

Never fear, though, because all of Gilbert's siblings (Albert, Jolie, and Molly) found great homes thanks to the local PetSmart. Gilbert stayed with our volunteer and moved with her to Wyoming in 2008. He now lives at the sanctuary, where he very happily snuggles, loves, and enjoys the occasional catnip (see photo above!)
